Yasushi Moriwaki runs his atelier in Ohnancho, Shimane prefecture. Using clay and glaze from Shimane's rich land, he creates potteries for everyday use.

These are the 2 standard colors of Mr. Moriwaki's works: a matte gentle white, and glazy blue green. This time, he has brought us items of his new color.

The base is a whitish light blue, with a shadow of pale pink. Delicate cracks made by heating the glaze covers the surface, making it seem like a piece of glacier.

The colors seem very different, but it is a surprise to hear the the ingredients - the clay and glaze - is all the same. Mr. Moriwaki told us about the excitement of when he saw this beautiful color come out of the kiln, we can just imagine!

Here is an introduction of just a few item from the wide variety of tableware in stock.
